My safety-net – February 28

Oh night why must though come
And separate me from my lover’s bosom
My heart breaks with sadness
For gone is my happiness
Separation casts a shadow
On every brook and meadow
That forms the landscape of my heart.

When we’re together beaching on the sand
Or walking hand in hand
I grow wings and boldly fly high
For you’re my safety net under the sky
A delicious knowing I cannot tell a lie
Like ice cream and apple pie
Your loves moves the mountain out of my path.
