Autumn

Colourful leaves balmy days

Burning bush smokey haze

the weather cycles into a new phase

the farmers market fills with fresh maize

welcome to autumn days

The sky becomes more mellow

with deeper tints of yellow

it’s time of harvest of plenty

Birds leave feeders unempty

They’re no longer hungry

Nature’s basket is full goodies

For both critters and the birdies.
Fall’s mood is sometimes gloomy

eyes becomes rheumy

songs of goodbyes to summer fun

laughter, circle dance under the sun

Time to begin the dace of surrender

to colder times and the winter.
